American prefabricated substation enclosures are divided into two types: those with an operating corridor (operators operate from inside the enclosure) and those without an operating corridor (operators operate from outside the enclosure). A prefabricated substation can be a single, integral enclosure or a modular enclosure composed of two, three, or more enclosures. The enclosure should have sufficient mechanical strength to prevent deformation during transportation and installation. It should strive for an aesthetically pleasing appearance and harmonious color scheme with the environment. The high-voltage and low-voltage compartments should be equipped with lighting and have dustproof and anti-condensation measures. The humidity in both high-voltage and low-voltage compartments should not exceed 90% (at 25°C), and the transformer room should be well-ventilated. The enclosure should have measures or devices for sun protection, rain protection, rust prevention, and prevention of small animals from entering.

 

Because the electricity consumption of American units is relatively large and high-voltage metering is not used, imported products generally do not have high-voltage metering, and the low-voltage compartments do not have various instruments and distribution circuit breakers. Imported products are often operated by agents, who generally lack production and modification capabilities. To meet the very simple usage requirements of users, it is necessary to outsource the production of low-voltage distribution equipment to switchgear manufacturers. Due to limited space, only four low-voltage metering circuits can be configured. High-voltage metering, low-voltage compensation, and multi-circuit configuration cannot be achieved within the product itself.
